Introduction to College Teaching
This seminar will explore a wide range of issues related to higher education
and college teaching. It will meet during the first twelve weeks of the semester. Weekly topics include:
an overview of higher education in the United States; developing a teaching philosophy; multiple roles of
the faculty member; motivating students; testing and grading; active learning; technology in the
