Active Learning
This program will discuss ways of getting students involved in learning.
Creative Teaching: Going Beyond Lectures to Teach Content
This session focuses on using innovative teaching strategies to teach content with an emphasis on developing learning goals and assessing effectiveness.
Designing Creative Assignments
In most courses, students are required to complete written work that takes the form of papers, problem sets, and/or exams. This session will give participants the opportunity to explore how other kinds of assignments, including group projects, presentations, research designs, and creative work can give students the chance to develop and be evaluated on various skills and types of knowledge.
Integrating Instructional Methodologies for Successful Teaching
Instructors can be far more effective as teachers by engaging in just a few strategies to motivate students and make their learning more successful, which is of course the measure of successful teaching. Improves lecture and discussion methods, the use of problems and cases to relate content to the “real world,” group work and informal writing, all help focus students efforts in learning. In class and out of class technology tools can keep the thinking and learning connected with course content. One successful strategy is all you need to transform teaching and learning in your courses. Come and choose from a collection of “best practices in instructional methodologies.”
